Goal musings

Ahhh-- bare witness to the astounding regularity of my blog postings.

It now April of 2009 and I am retired. My initial goals included:

  1. sleeping in
  2. reducing the amount of medication I take
  3. reducing my weight
  4. reducing my caffeine intake
  5. increasing exercise

I have had modest success with all of he above-- but only modest.

Still, as I look at it from my current point of view I've had success. Now I'd say my goals are to keep up all of the above and add the idea of being more goal directed. Even that sounds too narrow. What I want is more of a sense of purpose-- being motivated by something of a larger purpose. Being caught up in activities that I look forward to and get absorbed in.

Some possibilities include writing, church activities or other activities that hold interest for me. The natural course will be to involve myself in a variety of things that each hold some interest for me an allow me to focus some of my energies.

One thing I'd like to do is add to this blog more regularly and see if it gives me--or , er, I use to to give myself-- focus and a spark of interest.
